War Museum, Athens

Staffed by military personnel, this small museum provides an interesting perspective on Greek military engagements, weaponry and memorabilia through the ages. 

Exterior exhibits include aircraft, cannons and big guns (of course military history fans will know exactly what they are - I don't!).  Inside, the museum is divided by era and showcases some truly beautiful pieces of art. 

Almost all signage is exclusively in Greek.  You'll just have to enjoy the beauty of the artifacts without necessarily understanding their provenance.
